The Don Pedro spillway has been opened. We encourage all residents in the low lying areas near the Tuolumne river to seek higher ground. Please do not forget to grab all forms of identification, Important documents (marriage certificate, death certificate, birth certificate, etc.), medications/medical records. Please check on your neighbors and communicate to them about this warning; especially neighbors that have medical needs or the elderly. This is not a mandatory evacuation but is highly recommended. Please turn off your gas and electricity at the meters if you leave. IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY CALL 911. we encourage everyone to be out of the area by 12 noon 2-21-17. For information about water levels and the spillway there is a good article by Modbee. The American red cross has a shelter setup at the Stanislaus county fair grounds here is shelter information and here is a shelter map.
